Infrastructure
The main campus of GBPIHED is
located at Kosi-Katarmal (Almora) and has well equipped facilities and
services for conducting R&D activities in the region. Support facilities
include a Library; Arboretum at Katarmal and Pangthang (Sikkim); Plant
nurseries at several locations ranging from 1200 m to 3000 m above sea
level; Specialised and highly sophisticated laboratories for tissue culture,
soil and water analyses; Weather Stations at various locations; Data Processing
and Information Systems including GIS and GPS; Centre
on Environmental Information System (ENVIS). The Institute conducts
on-the-spot training camps/workshops for the public, particularly women,
students and teachers, army personnel, etc.
