THE SCHEME: -

Under this scheme one time grant is provided to Professional Societies and appropriate institutions engaged in environmental protection, conservation and development in harmony with the nature for Capacity Building related to the respective areas.

OBJECTIVES: -

1. To utilise the expertise available with professional societies, voluntary organisations, institutions, etc., for developing various programmes and activities aimed at promoting environmental education and awareness.

2. To support the development of exhibition galleries, interpretation centres and educational programmes relevant to ecology, wildlife and environment at or through museums / science centres and other institutions.

What is supported: -

1. Development of programmes and activities related to environmental education and awareness.

2. Development of exhibition galleries, interpretation centres and educational programmes relevant to ecology, wildlife and environment at or through museums / science centres and other institutions.

What is not supported: -

1. (i) Under the scheme proposals for research, collection and compilation of data and information, etc. are not supported.

2. Under the scheme the funds are not provided to any individual / business houses.

ELIGIBILITY: -

1. Any voluntary / professional organisation or academic / research institution or museum / science centre or Government department actively involved in the field of environmental education and awareness.

2. The organisation / department should have worked in the field of environment education / awareness / extension for minimum period of three years and during this period the organisation should have developed considerable expertise and should have excellent track record of working in this area, as exhibited

3. Individuals are not eligible to apply.

LIMITATIONS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: -

Maximum financial assistance provided under the scheme will be Rs. 5 lakhs.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR PUBLICATIONS

THE SCHEME: -

1. To utilise the expertise available with professional societies, voluntary organisations, institutions, etc., for printing of publication aimed at promoting environmental education and awareness.

2. To provide financial assistance for publications useful for environmental education and awareness

What is supported: -

Publications of material related to environmental education and awareness in various Indian languages.

What is not supported: -

1. Under the scheme the funds are not provided to any publishers / business houses.

2. Financial assistance for publication of newsletter, magazines, journals periodicals etc. are not provided under the scheme.

ELIGIBILITY: -
